Every build is different. Here's some of what comes through the workshop — starting with the car that never really leaves it.
"This one's quite special. It's been running about on the same engine, built by ARES Tuning, running over 600bhp on a TTV5 for 18 months of hard daily miles. This engine isn't spec'd for any more than that in terms of headwork, wrist pin size and clearances — but we wanted to see if more power was possible with a bolt-on hybrid turbo.
Everything else stayed the same, including the fuel — usual Tesco or V-Power plus water/meth — but we swapped the turbo for an EQT Typhoon. We settled on 711bhp and 585lb ft. Remember, this is a daily-driven 4-cylinder engine.
This is a proper loaded run, giving time for the whole system to build up heat — not a 4-second inertia run chasing the highest number. It's one of the reasons our cars are so quick against the clock for their power: it's true sustained power when the car is loaded and hot, not just in ideal conditions."
